The Advisory Practice

We help you build a business that's worth more

Most fractional CFOs help you run the business. Capfluent helps you grow it. We partner with founders to identify and optimize the most impactful growth levers for your business. The principal you hire leads the work, and our approach delivers practical outcomes that maximize business value.

Where Value Is Lost

The gaps a finance partner closes

Companies lose enterprise value in predictable places: a forecast that arrives too late, a number you can't back up with evidence. A finance-first partner closes those gaps before they cost you.

  • You see your runway a quarter ahead

A rolling forecast you update every month, so the date you need capital stops being a surprise.

  • You close diligence gaps before a buyer finds them

We ask the questions a lender or an acquirer will ask, while you still have time to answer them well.

  • You price a raise or an exit on evidence

A valuation or raise amount you can walk an investor or buyer through line by line, and defend when they push back.

  • Your leadership team, board, and lenders can act on your reporting

A short monthly pack that points at the next decision instead of describing the last quarter.

Three Ways We Engage

Choose the level of support your decision needs

Start with financial leadership. Add value-creation advisory when the question becomes what the company is worth. Bring in exit support when you are ready to sell.

GROW

The Fractional-CFO Practice

CFO-level financial leadership without the full-time hire. Someone at the table who turns your numbers into the next move, from forecasting and reporting to the calls that carry real dollars.

  • A forecast you can decide on
  • A board reporting cadence
  • Decision support that carries real dollars

COMPOUND

Value-Creation Advisory

Manage the company as an asset. Start free with the Compounding Score, plan the value with the Compounding Blueprint, then build it across capital, economics, and returns.

  • Know your Compounding Score
  • A value-creation plan
  • Enterprise value that compounds

UNLOCK

Sell-Side / Exit Advisory

Founder-led sell-side and exit advisory. We position the business, source the right buyers, close the diligence gaps, and defend your valuation, on flat engagement fees.

  • Diligence readiness
  • Valuation defense
  • A defensible ask

Would you rather learn your options in a room of peers before taking on a partner? Take a look at the Capital Fluency Lab.

Exit support is offered to existing Grow and Compound clients at flat engagement fees, never a percentage of a transaction. Advisory only, not an RIA or broker-dealer.

Your Funding Mix

Most funding comes from more than one source

Most companies fund growth with a blend of non-dilutive capital, debt, and equity. The split between those three sources determines how much of the company you keep and how many months of operating cash you have. We help you set it before you commit to any one path.

Illustrative. The right blend is specific to your model, your stage, and the ownership you want to protect.

How It Works

How we start working together

1

A strategy call

Tell us what is on your mind. Bring the funding or valuation question you are stuck on, and we pressure-test it with you on the first call.

2

A diagnostic

We read your numbers the way a lender or an investor will, then show you where you are losing value and where you are building it.

3

A scoped engagement

We propose the tier and the scope your decision needs, and we price it on the value of the outcome. You see exactly what the work covers before you commit.

4

An ongoing partnership

As you grow, the work grows with you. Start with financial leadership and add value-creation advisory when the question becomes what the company is worth.

A Denver partner who knows the room your capital comes from

Frequently Asked Questions

How does an advisory engagement actually work?

It starts with a strategy call about the decision in front of you, then a short diagnostic of your numbers. From there we scope the engagement to what the decision needs, whether that is a reporting backbone, ongoing fractional CFO leadership, or exit support. The work is bespoke, not a package off a menu.

What does the engagement cover?

That depends on the tier. Grow is the fractional-CFO practice: financial leadership that turns your numbers into the next move, from reporting and forecasting to the calls that carry real dollars. Compound is value-creation advisory: managing the company as an asset across capital, economics, and returns. Unlock is founder-led sell-side and exit advisory. Every engagement is finance-first, so accounting stays in the background where it belongs.

What does it cost?

We price each engagement on the value of the outcome, not on hours worked. The fee reflects what the decision is worth to your business. Because every engagement is scoped to the company in front of us, there is no published price list. You leave the strategy call knowing what an engagement would look like and what it would cost.

Do you raise capital or take a percentage of my raise or sale?

No. Capital options are advised on, never executed, placed, or brokered. Any exit support is offered to existing advisory clients at flat engagement fees, never a percentage of a transaction. Capfluent is advisory only, not an RIA or a broker-dealer.

I already have a bookkeeper and an accountant. Why add this?

Accounting tells you what happened. We help you decide what to do next: capital readiness, valuation and scenario modeling, and investor and lender relations, informed by two decades of sitting where the investors sit. Your books stay in the background so strategy stays in the foreground.

How is this different from the Capital Fluency Lab?

The advisory practice is an ongoing partnership. The Capital Fluency Lab is a separate four-session Denver cohort where founders learn their options in a room of peers and providers. They are different engagements for different moments, and neither is a prerequisite for the other.

Not investment, legal, or tax advice.

Our full FAQ covers fees, the Capital Fluency Lab, and exit support in more depth.
